Sunset Marriage Proposal in Big Sur

Josh discovered my work online and reached out to me to connect in person to discuss plans for his marriage proposal. We met at a local Starbucks to discuss the details and how he would propose to his girlfriend Erika, who did not know who I was. Everything was set in stone.

When the day came, I was ready at the exact spot where the proposal was going to take place. I waited for the couple to step into the same area. I spotted the couple and waited for them to get to the spot, however, they walked right passed me as the sun began to go down. Josh tried to talk to Erika and tried convincing her to walk into the spot where he wanted to propose, but they continued to walk away. I chased after them for awhile, but they were gone and out of sight. A little worried, I began to walk back to the car, but I was not going to give up on the couple even if we were past the contracted time. Then I remembered that they had parked right next to my car and they had to come back this way. So I went back to the spot where he wanted to propose and I waited for them, but the daylight was running out.

About 15-2O minutes of waiting, I saw the couple walking back and I positioned myself once again as best as I could for the proposal photograph. They walked past me again. This time Josh made eye contact with me and tapped me on the shoulder hinting that he was going to propose. I quickly grabbed my camera and began to take photographs as Josh dropped down to his knees to ask Erika if she would be his wife. She said yes!

Here are some kind words from the couple:

Parm was the perfect photographer for my surprise engagement! He collaborated with me to find a location, timing, and spot for him to even hide so my soon-to-be fiancé wouldn’t suspect anything. He was very professional and helpful across planning sessions, working within my budget, and semi-flexible timelines.

After the shoot, the turnaround time for the images was absurdly fast. The editing looks AMAZING and overall experience was fantastic. We did have one minor edit for a few shots, and he tweaked them very fast once again. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to hire a photographer.
