Lover’s Point Engagement Photo Session

My wife and I were invited to hang out with friends at a house that one of our friend’s was house sitting to celebrate the 4th of July. The owners allowed us to have a get together, so we took the opportunity and rolled with it. We all got there at the same time and greeted each other. There were a lot of new faces, but some old ones as well. I went around and introduced myself to everyone I did not know.

One of those people was Stephanie from @hairbystephanieh who had flown in from Phoenix, Arizona. We talked about Arizona, being wedding vendors, and different types of brides that we have worked with.

Two other people I met that day were newly engaged Jacynda, my wife’s middle school friend, and her fiancé Omar. They were planning on going back to the Monterey coast to take engagement photographs and Stephanie was going to be Jacynda’s MUAH (make up and hair) artist. The only thing was that they did not have a photographer and were planning on taking photographs with their cell phones at the same spot where Omar proposed.

As we began to setup the tables and help prep the food, a couple of discussed what we did for work. Both Omar and I were apart of this group and I brought up that I photograph couples including engagement photo sessions, weddings, and elopements. As we began to eat, Omar shared with Jacynda if she knew that I was a photographer and Jacynda said that my wife had mentioned it to her before. As we continued to chat, I eventually began to show them my work and they asked if I was free that weekend to help photograph their engagement photo session. I told them I was, but also advised them to only hire being if I was the right fit for them. They agreed to hire me and I was able to capture these beautiful interactions and moments between the two that weekend.
